Rabokona's Camp Fi

If I had to summarize Camp Fi in one word, I would say "growth." Camp Fihavanana is where I learned the most about life: self confidence, solidarity, communication, leadership, funny games, tie dye, free painting, Fihavanana, etc. I've never done something like this before, and you know what? You'll see my dumb face again next year guys! It was such an amazing adventure with amazing people!

I think the biggest challenge that we had to face as a staff during this Camp was to work together. We came from all over the world, with different languages and different cultures, but we managed to turn our differences into a big strength. We made it!

At the beginning I was really afraid. I was like: "What am I doing here? What if kids won't find me funny? What if they don't like me?" But the first time I saw their laugh, the happiness in their face, their energy - it took away all my doubts, and we had a great relationship. They even gave me the nickname "Rabokona" which means "muscular" (of course I'm not!).

These campers are incredible. I can say that I learned more from them than they did from me. All the moments passed are my favorites, but if I had to share some, it was during choice time - I lead my own activity by myself! It was really funny: we laughed, we sang, I couldn't describe what I felt at this moment.  That day I learned what kind of person I am and I would like to be.

I can't not talk about hiking to Anjiro. It was athletic, but we discovered how beautiful nature is. I really loved seeing the waterfall, and I feel lucky to come from this country.
